ISIALANGWA NORTH LGA LAUNCHES ABIA STATE HEALTH INSURANCE PILOT SCHEME

Today, August 24 2022, Isialangwa North LGA officially welcomed the Abia State Health insurance pilot program. The insurance program aims to provide all inhabitants and citizens of Isialangwa North with access to universal healthcare, as well as eventually all Local Government Areas in the State. In order to prevent needless fatalities in the state, the project for universal health insurance coverage is aimed to make high-quality medical treatment readily available, approachable, and affordable.

Barr. Okey Igwe who represented the co-covener of the event, Professor Eleazar Uche Ikonne, stated that “flagging off the scheme is a way of laying strong foundation for a robust health system in the state as Government alone cannot do it.”

“He encouraged well meaning Abians to key into the scheme by getting more people enrolled. He opined that Universal Health insurance scheme has worked wonders in developed countries, thus; charged those managing the scheme to make sure this pilot scheme in Isialangwa North becomes a huge success, which will trigger a new vista of stability and efficiency in our Abia State basic health care delivery system.”
